Common-Interest-Company (CIC)
Our ONE. Congo River structure has taken the initial form of a "CIC", known as a Common-interest-Company under the UK legislative system.
In essence, as a prudent, purposeful starting point a CIC governs a philanthropic pathway through our entrepreneurial stewardship steering the project at each juncture whilst reflects and connects to our overarching roadmap and strategies.
Furthermore, whilst a CIC is considered "a hybrid between a charity and profit making" ¹, it is created and operated for the benefit of the community. In time, if considered appropriate a CIC can be converted into a for-profit entity, particularly as our goals evolve and the works undertaken in the early stages step into other areas and develop their own profiles.
Nonetheless, our CIC can continue in its own sovereignty in perpetuity, support and compliment additional structural pathways as our ONE. Congo River project unfolds and takes on a life of its own.
